IU Health Presents: Pacers Bikeshare Free Day

Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. announced that there will be free access to Pacers Bikeshare, complements of Indiana University Health, on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in celebration of Pacers Bikeshare’s 3rd Birthday as well as Earth Day. IU Health encourages people to use Pacers Bikeshare on Earth Day as a healthy activity and an easy way to make a positive impact on our local environment.

“We’re grateful to IU Health for providing free access to Pacers Bikeshare on Saturday as a way to encourage physical activity and improve our environment. Free access days are a fantastic opportunity for people to try Pacers Bikeshare for the first time,” said ICT Executive Director, Kären Haley.  “As we celebrate the third anniversary of the Pacers Bikeshare, it’s exciting to see how our corporate and community leaders, like IU Health, continue to recognize the value of a successful bike share program in Indianapolis.”

“This day is a great opportunity for Hoosiers to appreciate the spring weather and celebrate Earth Day,” said Dr. Kimbre Zahn, primary care physician at IU Health. “Riding a bike is one of the many forms of physical activity that the whole family can enjoy together, while improving their overall health and wellbeing.”

Individuals wanting to take advantage of free access to Pacers Bikeshare, complements of Indiana University Health on Saturday, April 22, can do so by checking out a bike at any of the 29 station kiosks located on or near the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.  A credit card must still be used when checking out a bike and usage fees for trips over 30 minutes will still apply.  More information about how to use Pacers Bikeshare is available at www.pacersbikeshare.org.
