Pacers Bikeshare: 3 years old & New App

ToursOn April 20th, Indianapolis Cultural Trail celebrated the third anniversary of the Pacers Bikeshare program including milestones in year three and two new ways to access Pacers Bikeshare.  Year three statistics include 101,704  bike share trips bringing the total to 326,502 trips and almost 750,000 miles travelled on Pacers Bikeshare since the program launched in 2014.
New this year, an upgraded mobile application allows bikes to be checked out by mobile device, making Pacers Bikeshare an even more convenient way to travel around downtown.  The new mobile app also helps you locate the nearest bike share station, gives point to point, bike friendly directions and shows real time bike availability. Search “BCycle” in the app store forboth Apple and Android platforms.
Also new this year, a $15 monthly pass may be purchased online at pacersbikeshare.org
“Pacers Bikeshare continues to be an exceptional way to travel in downtown as well as recreate and get exercise,” said Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. Executive Director, Kären Haley.  “The new mobile application makes bike share even more convenient since you only need your phone to get a bike and our new monthly pass option is an affordable way forpeople ride the bikes from month to month. As Pacers Bikeshare continues to grow it is essential that we continue to make the system easy to use and affordable to access. The monthly pass and the new mobile app helps us to achieve that goal”
Two new bike share stations were added in year three, one on the Eskenazi Health campus and one at the intersection of Mass Ave and College Avenue bringing the total number of stations to 29. The majority of the 29 stations are located on, or within a block of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
