Swedish Artist Bringing New Art to the Cultural Trail

Big news! New art is coming to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail!

“Another Man’s Treasure” by internationally acclaimed sculptor Don B. Alitterer will be unveiled  April 22, 2017.

Alitterer is a Switerland based artist and focuses his work on repurposing pieces of trash and litter. “I’m honored to be chosen to create this new art piece,” said Alitterer. “The Cultural Trail is internationally renowned for transforming Indianapolis by beautifully connecting it’s downtown neighborhoods and cultural districts. I’m thrilled that my art work will be a part of that beauty and am hopeful it will inspire future generations.”

“Another Man’s Treasure” will be comprised of over 4,000 gallons of litter that was collected by volunteers as a part of the 2017 Spring Clean, ICT, Inc.’s annual event which removes winter grime and litter from the eight mile Cultural Trail.

“I’ve long thought the Cultural Trail would be a great place to showcase Alitterer’s art in the United States,” said ICT, Inc. Executive Director, Kären Haley.  “His creative re-use of the litter will serve not only as a beautiful piece of art on the Cultural Trail, a showcase of sustainability in Indianapolis, but also bring to attention the thousands of pounds of litter our volunteers and operations team picks up each year.  We’re hopeful it will inspire people to put their trash in one of the hundreds of trash and recycling containers located on the Cultural Trail instead of littering.”

Happy April Fools from all of us at ICT, Inc.!
