Egg Hunting Tips

April 16, 2019   |  Categorized in

We can’t wait to see you and your families out here this weekend for the Indianapolis Cultural Trail’s 3rd Annual Egg-Stravaganza! There is so much fun and excitement that day that it can be a little overwhelming…So whether this is your first time attending or you’re an egg hunting professional, we have tips to help ensure your best possible Egg-Stravaganza experience.

Get there early!
As they say, “The early bird gets the worm!”. Make sure you plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early. Parking, walking, and lining up always takes more time than you think so make sure you’re not rushing, get there early!

Know the difference: 10:00am vs 10:15am Start Time
Kids under 3 years old? 10:00am start time
Kids over 3 years old? 10:15am start time

Pick the correct location for you and your egg hunter! There are 13,000 eggs hidden along the Trail! But we have three designated starting locations! So let’s pick the right one for you:
Indianapolis Cultural Trail HQ: This location attracts a lot of people! So if you have an eager beaver or a competitive hunter this is your location!
Looking for a more slow paced hunt? Check out the other two locations at Fletcher Place (Chilly Water Brewery) and Chatham Arch (IPS Center for Inquiry #2).
Do you want to avoid the crowds completely? Well, we hide eggs all along the Trail so head over towards Washington St, Blackford Street (new IUPUI), or Alabama Street and you can take your time with you family. See Cultural Trail Map for reference.

I want a golden egg, now! Prizes! Our eggs are stuffed with goodies and if you happen to find a golden egg then you get something a little extra special! We had lots of local businesses and organizations donate some awesome prizes so make sure to redeem your golden egg for a prize. All prize slips must be redeemed by 11:00 a.m. so make sure you check your eggs before you leave!

Return your plastic eggs! Once you’ve taken your goodies out — we’ll happily take back your plastic eggs. We’ll recycle them for the following year!

Have fun and be safe! We’ll have our staff and volunteers on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly but remember to look both ways before crossing the street!

We’ll see you all out on the Trail this Saturday! Happy hunting!
