Keep Ann Dancing Dance Party Success

The dance party raised more than $5,000 from the public to Keep Ann Dancing. Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc…and contributions to Keep Ann Dancing are still coming in!

The crowdfunding campaign officially ended on Saturday, June 29 with a free Keep Ann Dancing Dance Party in front of Ann Dancing by Julian Opie.

“There have been so many ways for people to Keep Ann Dancing from buying Keep Ann Dancing merchandise, buying Ann Dancing inspired drinks at local restaurants and making contributions online and via text,” said Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. Executive Director, Kären Haley. “Contributions are still coming in through our website keepanndancing.org and checks are still arriving in the mail. We are going to announce the total amount raised in the coming weeks as gifts continue to come in and all contributions are tallied.”

The Keep Ann Dancing Dance Party presented by Faegre Baker Daniels on June 29 included music from Indianapolis DJs DJ BK, DJ Wild Woman, DJ Metognome, DJ Gabby Love and DJ Action Jackson. Over 500 people attended the public and family friendly dance party on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail at Mass Ave and Alabama St which took place from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Ann Dancing, by Julian Opie, is the oldest piece of art on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn.  Everyone is encouraged to share their favorite Ann Dancing memory and images using #KeepAnnDancing as well as follow @KeepAnnDancing on all social media channels.
