Pacers Bikeshare Annual Pass Benefits and Price Changes

Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc., the non-profit organization that operates the City of Indianapolis’ community bike share program,  Pacers Bikeshare, announced today the Pacers Bikeshare program will change the annual pass program beginning February 1, 2020 to include unlimited 60  minute trips for annual pass holders and also change the annual pass price to $125 for an annual pass.

This is the first price change to the annual pass since the program’s inception in 2014. Anyone wanting to purchase an annual pass at the existing price and benefits, $80 for unlimited 30 minute trips for 12 months, may still do so through January 31, 2020 either online at PacersBikeshare.org or on the BCycle mobile app.

The EveryBody Rides pass program, which provides Pacers Bikeshare access to residents who receive SNAP benefits or receive services from partner social service providers, will transition to a monthly $5 pass that includes unlimited 60 minute trips on Pacers Bikeshare.  This transition will also take effect February 1, 2020.

“We’ve heard from both our annual pass holders and EveryBody Rides program participants that people want to have more time to ride Pacers Bikeshare bikes, especially after our expansion last fall, ” said Indianapolis Cultural Trail Executive Director Kären Haley. “Residents can now ride from Garfield Park to Broad Ripple and the Near East Side to Riverside Park. With these changes, we are making it easier for our annual pass holders and EveryBody Rides participants to use Pacers Bikeshare for longer periods of time and truly utilizing Pacers Bikeshare as a form of affordable transportation in our city. Ultimately, more people riding bike share for longer distances is good for our local environment and for our community’s health.”

Last May, the not-for-profit Pacers Bikeshare program introduced “Pay As You Ride” which allows easy access to Pacers Bikeshare for $1 to ride and 15 cents per minute for the duration of the trip with no time limitation. This option is available through the BCycle mobile app and at any of the 50 station kiosks.

In September 2019, in partnership with the City of Indianapolis, Pacers Bikeshare added 275 more bikes and 21 more bikeshare stations through a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant, providing Pacers Bikeshare users access to neighborhoods along the city’s greenway network and Broad Ripple. The expansion also increased station density downtown, expanded to near downtown neighborhoods and added stations along the Monon Trail  and along IndyGo’s new RedLine route. Maps highlighting the expansion and complete system can be found here.

Pacers Bikeshare is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Anyone can check out a bike and “Pay as You Ride” for $1 per trip and .15/minute or purchase an annual pass online at pacersbikeshare.org and on the BCycle mobile app. Click here to find more information.
