“Pacers Bikeshare and our ‘Let’s Go For a Bike Ride’ community ride series powered by Knozone is an easy and fun way to go on a bike ride, explore Indianapolis neighborhoods and learn about Pacers Bikeshare and the 50 bike share stations around the city,” said Kären Haley, Indianapolis Cultural Trail Inc executive director. “The community bike rides are free and open to everyone. We hope both seasoned and novice riders use these events as a way to familiarize themselves with Pacers Bikeshare, our city’s greenways and trails and see how Pacers Bikeshare can get you where you need to go. Our community ride series is a fantastic way to get outside, get some exercise and spend time with friends or family while exploring our city using bike share, all for free in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.”

Last year, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail expanded the Pacers Bikeshare program to bring bike share stations to more neighborhoods and destinations in our community. The expansion brings the total number of bikeshare stations in Indianapolis to 50 and the total number of bikes available to 525.

The “Let’s Go For a Bike Ride” series is powered by Knozone, an initiative of the City of Indianapolis’s Office of Sustainability to improve Central Indiana’s air quality and make the region more sustainable and livable. Residents can discover additional ways that biking improves local air quality by visiting Knozone.com and following the office on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @SustainIndy.

“These community rides are a great opportunity for Indianapolis residents to try Pacers Bikeshare for the first time and experience how easy it can be to switch to a more environmentally-friendly mode of transportation,” said Abbey Brands, interim director of the city’s Office of Sustainability. “In just the past three months, Pacers Bikeshare has helped offset almost 120,000 pounds of CO2, and we hope that we can continue the momentum with this new series.”

Pacers Bikeshare will continue to host “Let’s Go for a Bike Ride!” free community rides powered by Knozone into September as part of the EveryBody Rides program. For more information, follow Pacers Bikeshare on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @PacersBikeshare.
