There are hundreds of businesses along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail that have helped transform the urban core, including Downtown Phone Repair, located on the second floor of City Market, and owned by Andy Howard, Fletcher Place resident, enthusiastic Pacers Bikeshare rider, dad to Adelaide, Miriam and Jasper and husband to Marlene. Tell us about Downtown Phone Repair. I mostly fix broken iPhone screens, but can do most cell phone repairs given enough time and YouTube videos. What motivated you to start your business? I stopped being excited about my former career. I ended up spending a few years being a...

You meet the most interesting people along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Here’s one now: Gary Reiter, Senior Trust Administrator at BMO Harris Private Banking, a daily Pacers Bikeshare user and proud downtown Indy resident. How does the Indy Cultural Trail connect you to the city? I use the Indy Cultural Trail as my transportation route to work at the corner of Ohio and Pennsylvania. You meet the most interesting people along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Here’s one now: Karissa Hulse, Director of Programs and Community Partnerships at IndyHub, wife to Brett and mother to Charlie. How does the Indy Cultural Trail connect you to the city? Home, my work, my son’s childcare, our church — most of my daily life happens within a few blocks of the Cultural Trail so it is quite literally how I navigate the city. During the workdays, I intentionally try to plan meetings near the Trail. And on weekends, my husband, Brett, and I will often go walk on...

by Jordan Kingdon, Operations Manager, ICT, Inc. The weather has finally broken just in time for May and National Bike Month! It’s time to ride! But first, let me share some cycling tips for the spring. It’s important to evaluate your bike and wardrobe before swinging a leg over and pedaling into the sunset. First let’s start with your bike. The last thing you want is a bike issue on your first ride of the season. Here are some simple tasks you can do on your own to ensure a good experience. Air Up Your Tires I recommend using a hand pump...

Be the first to ride the new “Indy Welcomes All” #IndyBlueBike unveiled last week at the Pacers Bikeshare One-year Birthday Party. What Exactly is a Unicorn Bike? It’s mysterious and magical and only a chosen few will ever get the chance to see or ride it! Among the 250 yellow bikes, one blue bike will stand above the rest, proudly displaying its “Indy Welcomes All” decoration and demonstrating our City’s commitment to inclusivity and Hoosier Hospitality. ICT, Inc. is continuing in the tradition of other bikeshare transit systems by specially decorating one bike in our fleet for a very...
