Calling all dog owners! The Indianapolis Cultural Trail and the City of Indianapolis are proud to bring you two FREE dog parks in Downtown Indy!
Located just steps off the Indianapolis Cultural Trail at the Downtown Canal and Lugar Plaza, the Pawp-Up Pup Parks offers a safe and spacious environment for your dog to run, play, and make new friends. Plus, they are a great opportunity for you to meet fellow dog owners in the community while enjoying some fresh air and sunshine.
Both Pawp-Up Pup Parks are open daily from dawn to dusk to well-behaved pups and responsible owners. See FAQs and rules for more information.
Locations
Downtown Canal Location
The PUP Park is located at 701 Canal Walk Indianapolis, IN 46202, just north of the Colts Canal Playspace. The PUP Park is located on the east side of the Downtown Canal between St. Clair St. and the Orange Bridge/Walnut St.
Lugar Plaza Location
The PUP Park is located at 200 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46204, just south of the City-County Building between Alabama St. and Delaware St. The PUP Park is located on the East Lawn of Lugar Plaza.
Requirements
Pawp-up Pup Park is open to well-behaved dogs and responsible owners.
- Although vaccine records are not required, dogs should only enter the park if they are up-to-date on all vaccines.
- All ages, sizes and breeds are welcome, but dogs using the park should be well-socialized.
- PUP Park visitors enter at their own risk and owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior, including picking up after them.

FREE! There is no cost to enjoy Pawp-Up Pup Park.
Parking
DOWNTOWN CANAL LOCATION: Nearby street parking is available on Senate Ave., Indiana Ave., New York St., Ohio St., and 11th St. It’s is paid Monday- Saturday, and FREE on Sundays and holidays. Additionally, several nearby paid parking lots and garages are also open to the public.
Accessible parking is located at the Education & Research Institute of Indiana University Radiology (713 N. Senate Ave.) parking lot, which can be entered from St. Clair St. as well as several ADA street parking spaces. Please see Park Indy for ADA street parking locations and more information.
There is NO parking on Walnut St. where it is shared with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
LUGAR PLAZA LOCATION:
Nearby street parking is available on Washington St., Alabama St., Delaware Dt. and Market St. It’s is paid Monday- Saturday, and FREE on Sundays and holidays. Additionally, several nearby paid parking lots and garages are also open to the public.

PUP Park Rules
- Open daily dawn to dusk.
- Dogs should only enter the park if they are up-to-date on all vaccines.
- Please pick up your dog’s waste and dispose of it the provided receptacles.
- Do not allow your dog to be aggressive towards people or other dogs.
- Remember to keep you dog leashed until you enter the dog park area.
- Owners must remain in the park with their dogs and maintain visual contact at all times.
- Please keep both gates closed.
- Use park at your own risk. The park is not responsible for injury or damage.
The success of this pop-up dog park is dependent on responsible use by all attendees.
