What you Love about the Cultural Trail and Pacers Bikeshare: The Trail as a whole – it provides a safe space to ride, commute, or experience downtown… I work with a lot of new riders. I love gauging their responses of how long it’s been since they’ve been on a bike, so with that in your head, you don’t want to jump on a street. Even a bike lane is just as foreign to a new rider, so explaining to them that it’s a sidewalk that you can ride on, that you’re encouraged to ride on, is just awesome. I just love that safe space that it provides new riders. It just decreases that fear.
Pacers Bikeshare – I like that it is encouraging people to experience and view their city at a different speed. I think that’s the biggest win for Bikeshare. And it’s decreasing potential barriers of entry to bike riding. With Pacers Bikeshare, you don’t have to worry about purchasing a bike, taking care of a flat tire, or having a secure place to lock it.
