October and November mean getting a long list of fall chores have been crossed off of the Cultural Trail operations team’s list. Thanks to the help of 287 volunteers throughout the month of October, we’ve been able to accomplish these eight major tasks:
- Cutting back and raking all of the stormwater planters for winter (25,000 square feet so far!)
- Fall planting – 1,000 plants!
- Cutting back some perennials and grasses
- Raking leaves from the Trail, while leaving some in the beds
- Using air compressors to empty the water out of irrigation lines
- Transplanting
- Weeding cool season weeds
- Tool maintenance and cleaning
That is a LOT, but we get it done!We are always welcoming volunteers to help out with Trail chores. Get involved: https://indyculturaltrail.org/support/volunteer/
