With 8 (soon to be 10!) miles of hardscape and over five acres of gardens to maintain, our landscape and maintenance team is growing! Please welcome our new Trail Maintenance Specialist, Addis Berry! In the months that Addis has been on the team, he has already made a noticeable impact on the Cultural Trail. Get to know Addis below and be sure to say hello when you see him out and about!
Background:
I’m an outdoors person. I’ve been doing landscaping for 20 years – building decks, designing landscapes, installing landscapes, building retaining walls, paver patios, maintaining properties, you name it, I’ve done it all. I enjoy landscaping, planting flowers, trees, shrubs, taking care of them, maintaining them.
What do you enjoy about working out on the Trail?
Just the people in general. People really utilize the Trail a lot and they really appreciate it and what it has to offer. Just the other day, a lady came by and said, “I just sold my house and moved downtown. It’s so good to come [to the Trail] and enjoy plants and not have to take care of anything.”
Words of wisdom:
I try to have a positive attitude everyday when I wake up. I try to remember that everyday is a good day. No matter how bad your day is, there’s something good in every day. You just have to find the good.
