Indianapolis Cultural Trail To Host Winter Warm Up Run

Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. (ICT, Inc.) today announced the second annual Winter Warm Up, a four-mile and eight-mile run/walk, to be held on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick on Saturday, February 27 at 9:00 a.m.

Both race courses are entirely on the Cultural Trail providing a one of a kind, scenic and urban race experience.  All proceeds will support snow and ice removal efforts on the Cultural Trail, which is cleared all winter long by the non-profit, ICT, Inc.

“The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is one of most popular public places in downtown Indianapolis. The Winter Warm Up is a way people can both give back to the Trail and be active during the winter“ said Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc.  Executive Director, Kären Haley.  “We know people depend on the Trail to be clear of snow and ice in the winter months.   This event brings attention to that effort and provides a unique race experience to runners and walkers alike.”

Additional information, including sponsorship opportunities, can be found on the Cultural Trail’s website at indyculturaltrail.org/winterwarmup.  Registration is $25 in advance and $30 day of the race.  Both courses begin and end at City Market.

People can also “pay not to run” if they want to support the Trail’s efforts, without participating in the race.  Donations of $25 or more will receive a Winter Warm Up t-shirt.
